The Thompson Okanagan has officially achieved certification as a Sustainable Tourism Accreditation from Biosphere International and the Responsible Tourism Institute, the first in the Americas to do so. Being a Biosphere Certified Destination means that the Thompson Okanagan has met all 17 Sustainable Development Goals set out by the United Nations World Tourism Organization. Protecting our environmental, social and economic resources is very important to ensure our wonderful tourism experiences are available for generations to come.
